Although we are heading into the AFL Grand Final week, the Seddon Cricket Club are also full steam ahead with the cricket season fast approaching.
Below are some key dates to put into your calendar:
Tuesday 25 September - Training
Training between 5.30pm-7pm.
Thursday 27 September - Training & rooms open!
Training between 5.30pm-7pm. We also officially take over the club rooms as the summer tenant, therefore the bar will be open and the rooms will be fully functional.
Tuesday 2 October - Training
Training between 5.30pm-7.30pm. With the first match on Saturday 6 October and daylight savings kicking in, there will be sufficient light for full nets training.
Thursday 4 October - Training & Selection/Pie Night
Training between 5.30pm-7.30pm. Also first selection and Pie night.
Saturday 6 October - 94th birthday party
Along with our first match of the cricket season, it is also our 94th birthday party at the club rooms that evening. This event will be an annual event as we count down to 100 years as a cricket club in six years (2024). It promises to be a fun night to fire up the start of the season, so I urge you to come along and support this event. It's a fundraiser with a live entertainer, fully stocked bar and an abundance of finger food. Entry is strictly by way of prior payment and confirmation for catering and ease of running the event on the night.
If you have already indicated you will be attending and haven't paid as yet, I urge you to send your $100pp payment to the club's bank account ASAP via EFT (see below):

Saturday 3 November - Derby Night
Derby Night event at the club rooms starting from 7.30pm. More information to follow.
See you down at the club!
Under 11 Cubs Coach required
As we have now hit two cubs teams, we are looking to see if any of our club members might have some interest in taking the reigns and being the COACH of one of these teams.
Cubs cricket is for 7-9 year olds and played on a Friday night. Training is held Monday nights (however there is no need to attend if you don’t want to). Here is what you will get if you decide to lead one of these teams:
If you do have any interest in taking up this role, please get in touch with Mark Webb on email firstname.lastname@example.org or mobile (0406 286 290).
From tomorrow night, we move to normal Tuesday and Thursday night training commencing from 5.30pm. With the weather improving, the nights getting longer and Round 1 less than three weeks, now is the time to get to training and put your hand up for selection.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about pre-season training, please contact Josh Beaumont (Senior Coach) on 0426 215 339 or email@example.com.
94th birthday party event - Saturday 6 October
As you would have known via a number of emails that have been sent out recently, we are holding a club fundraiser event on Saturday 6th October. The event is the Seddon CC 94th birthday party - which will be an annual event as we count down to 100 years as a cricket club in six years (2024).
This will be a fun night to fire up the start of the season, so I urge you to come along and support this event. It's a fundraiser with a live entertainer, fully stocked bar and an abundance of finger food. Entry is strictly by way of prior payment and confirmation for catering and ease of running the event on the night.
If you have already indicated you will be attending and haven't paid as yet, I urge you to send your $100pp payment to the club's bank account ASAP via EFT (see below), so we can mark you off the chase list.

$500 player sponsorship's
Would you like your work, family or friends business to sponsor you? This season we are asking players to actively seek player sponsorship's to assist with our fundraising activities.
If you find a $500 sponsor for the club, we will give you a $50 bar tab and a club polo as part of the sponsorship. The sponsor will also get player sponsor picture frame advertisement displayed in our social rooms and also a certificate of appreciation to display at their business or home.
If you believe you know someone who would be interested in sponsoring you (and the club), please let me know and I will email you the $500 sponsorship form. Alternatively, we also have other sponsorship packages available for those businesses and individuals who would like to sponsor the club in a more meaningful capacity.
See you at training or around the club soon!

Do you live within 5km of our club rooms? If so, please help Seddon Cricket Club and vote for a new Automated cricket pitch roller (see link below). We need as many votes as possible, with voting closing at 5pm on Monday 17 September.
Please share the link with friends, family, work colleagues, neighbours, local businesses and people you don't like - basically any one who lives within a 5km radius of Seddon Cricket Club and who are therefore eligible to vote for our project.
Why do we need a new Automated cricket pitch roller? The current manual roller is on it's last legs and our voluntary curator - the great man Geoff Price - needs all the help he can get to ensure we continue to prepare quality wickets for our senior sides.
The more votes we get, the better the chance we have of our project getting selected and obtaining funding from the State Government. It's that simple!
