First match & Pie night The cricket season is scheduled to commence next weekend, with the 1sts and 2nd scheduled to play two day matches and the 3rds and 4ths playing one day matches (as they will all season). The VTCA will provide an update early next week on whether the season will commence on time - stay tuned for more information next week. If the season does commence next weekend, the club will hold its annual Pie Night at the clubrooms on Thursday night. The Pies are FREE, drinks are at cost prices. It would be great to see as many players and club members as possible at the rooms next year Thursday night. Subscriptions and match fees The committee have agreed and endorsed a new model for yearly subscriptions and match fees this season. Match fees have increased, but subs have been significantly reduced this season. See information and link below. Yearly subscription (registered junior players excluded): $150 Match fees: $20 per week (regardless of umpire/s officiating in matches). NB: Registered juniors still only pay $5 per seniors match. Social members - Fee TBA. The above new yearly subscriptions and match fees applies to all senior grades and players. There will be no exceptions for the one day lower grades and/or the amount of matches a player plays during the season. Please note: As per the endorsed updated club constitution, players and club members can only vote at club annual general or special general meetings if the member has paid in full their annual subscription by 31 December. Membership voting rights will carry forward to 31 December the following year. Find out more about subscription fees and how to pay on our website. EFTPOS facilities Please note the club has invested in new EFTPOS facilities for all club purchases - including bar sales, clothing, function payments, yearly subscriptions and match fees. With the new EFTPOS facilities, the club will be phasing out the manual slate in the next couple of months. At this point all purchases will need to be either in cash or via card. Recruiting of players Each season one of the greatest challenges for cricket clubs is to fill junior and senior sides, particularly in the lower senior grades. The Seddon Cricket Club is no exception when it comes to this challenge. Therefore we constantly remain on the look out for new players of all ages and abilities to complement our senior and junior sides. If you know of any friends or colleagues who would like to play cricket this season, please bring them down to training or the club. New players can also contact myself for further information on the club. Trivia night - Monday 4 November (Cup Eve) The next club function is the trivia night at the clubrooms on Melbourne Cup Eve.
